6th Edition we saw diminished number of vehicles with glances and hull points. Now with 6th edition Codex, eldritch kin have, one of the most expensive transports in the game (save for land raiders and so forth) but also one the best transports. Thus bringing Mechdar back with vengeance... or did it?

So what are tactics for Eldar Armored warfare? unlike Tau, Eldars can deploy footdar lists and be effective but with lovely Wave Serpents (and t3 for most of the army), why would you? Unless you play jetbike army. However your tactics for Mechdar list and discussion for Mechdar tactics: Commence now, please Very Happy

Well, mechdar are incredibly strong with the new dex. The amount of firepower serpents can pump out is just amazing and with the help of prisms they get rid of armor as well. If you really need it the serpent can also be very resilient. Someone on TDC posted an article that by raw numbers of firepower the serpent equals around 4 chimairas and a couple autocannon teams. I think it is by far the easiest to use Eldar build.

On to tactics: For specific units I'd go for specific vehicle upgrades. Example: Vectored Engines is not so great. Cool effect and all, but very situational... this changes however once you put D-scythe Wraithguard inside said serpent. Now you can move 6" turn around, disembark another 6" towards the enemy to maximize flamer carnage and then in the shooting phase turn your front armor to the enemy and still have your shields up. Increases damage done by the wraiths and the survivability of your tank. It basically adds a serpent-length to your move.
